Backend Engineer — Go / Rust
/ ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for senior backend engineers with deep Go or Rust experience to work on the infrastructure-adjacent tooling and services our clients need. You'll build distributed systems, APIs, and blockchain tooling for funded startups and Web3 teams that need performance and reliability at the core.
/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build high-performance backend services in Go or Rust
- Develop APIs, microservices, and distributed system components
- Build and maintain blockchain tooling: indexers, relayers, or custom node software
- Optimise for performance and reliability in production environments
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams on deployment and observability
- Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code
/ TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong production experience in Go or Rust — one required, both a plus
- Experience building distributed systems or high-throughput APIs
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar data stores
- Understanding of concurrency patterns and performance optimisation
- Experience with containerised environments: Docker, Kubernetes
- Professional English — our clients are global
/ WOULD BE A STRENGTH
- Experience with blockchain node software or EVM tooling
- Knowledge of P2P networking protocols or consensus mechanisms
- Contributions to open source infrastructure or blockchain projects
- Experience with WebAssembly (WASM) for blockchain runtimes
- Background in fintech or high-frequency systems
